2.5 millions gamers just bought the stimulus package in a week, an overpriced DLC trying to get every penny loyal costumers. I think Infinity Ward were very cunning in selling 5 maps for $15. PC gamers get hundreds of free maps (often better than the DLC itself), while console gamers are forced to buy 5 for $15.
Anyway, my point is, the success of the stimulus package proves that a Call of Duty MMO could be very successful (atleast on 360), and it's existence is not that far off. By providing constant support and new content every month, I think a COD MMO would be successful enough. It may very well be one the reasons why the IW.Net was created too.
There are already MMO FPS around on PC, but one with the brand of COD would put it way at the top of the food chain.
