Ok, Im sold, as long as its fun. All the music, story, graphics, etc mean nothing to me if its not fun. Like I said, KOTOR made me crazy on boredom.

ME is definitly easier to get into. Taris in Kotor was very boring, and not much was happening story-wise, but in ME, it's like BAM, and you're into the game. However, if you didn't like Kotor in general, then this game may not be for you :P

It's basically KOTOR (in terms of depths of story, great character customization/design), but adds in Gears of War-style action (ie, gunplay, cover system).

The story line is beyond A+. It's easily the best RPG story in years. Honestly, it's better than half of the sci-fi movies out there thus far.

Not perfect, but definately a genre-defining game. Many RPGs from here on out are going to try to live up to the story telling, and conversations that take place in the game, because they are truely "next gen".

Half of the conversations in the game look allmost as good as the new movie 'Beowolf'. You know it's CG, but every conversation looks like a really high-end FMV.

Better then half the sci-fi movies out there isn't saying much.  Super Mario Galaxy has a better story then half the sci-fi movies out their!

Hah seriously though.  Sounds good.  This has been my most anticipated game of the year... now I just need my friend to freakin get this game, and his 360 back.

@eugene An RPG with a mediocre story can deliver
you a good experience? The story is the essence that brings an RPG to life.

Quality for Life

I understand perfectly what a good RPG is. Ive played them my entire life. Ive played every Final Fantasy game and spin off in existence. Ive also played and beaten KOTOR and KOTOR 2, but I didnt enjoy that series at all cause the base of the gameplay was so so boring. I had much fears of ME because of that. im sure many people are scarred inside from FF8 and FF 12 game play.

At darthvadem.

Future Mass Effects may be multiplatform, but the original is published by Microsoft Game Studios, and will never be coming to the Playstation 3.

Well now that Bioware is owned by EA, Mass Effect may become a dumbed down anual franchise! Yay!

SAME HERE

this is THE 360 title I have WANTED!!

But since EA brought bioware I feel that Mass Effect will be ported to Ps3 next year....

Apart from that

THIS is called Breathtaking not Lost Oddesey!

How.....................

................

Why would MS ever let Mass effect go to ps3

You understand that the deal was MS publishes the first one, and exclusitivity?

Its possible on the sequal, but matters if MS doesnt work a deal out.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Proud supporter of all 3 console companys

Proud owner of 360wii and DS/psp

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Personaly I don't think ME has a chance of winding up on the PS3, EA or not, so I hope you don't hold your breath for that one, I would hate to see you suffocate.  Anyways, back to the topic at hand, whoever talked about creating their character alone for 30 minutes I am right with you on that one.  The first guy I made had such a huge chin, I had to restart the game because I wasn't going to be able to watch cut scene after cut scene with that mountain sticking off my characters face...already annoyed me to no end in the first two scense ALONE.  So I went back and went all out, molding my character into the man he is today!!!  This game is just incredible, I can see already it is going to take me forever to finish it, because I exhaust every branching tree of dialogue everytime I talk to someone till there is nothing more to talk about.  I can't get enough, the story just pulls you in from the second the music reaches its climax, and the MASS EFFECT title blows a fat load all over your face.  From that point on I knew I was in for a treat!

I think if this game is as big a sales success as it is a critical success, Microsoft will pony up the money for exclusivity.

This is easily the best WRPG available for next generation systems, far surpassing Oblivion. The only WRPG on the horizon that MIGHT (I actually cannot convince myself it will) be better than Mass Effect is Fable 2. The next Oblivion is a possibility, but other than that the PS3 has nothing coming in this genre.
