Forums - Sony - Metal Gear Solid PW to feature bosses from Monster Hunter

Big Boss can take on a dinosaur no problem.

Interesting since one series is published by Konami (MGS) and one by Capcom (MH).

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

It will be good for its sales but itll probably kill off the series, while MGS isnt fully realistic and has bosses like The End whose a plant and The Pain who controls hornets its still grounded in realism.

And now Snakes gonna be fighting Dinosaurs? stupid stupid idea thats a poor gimmick.

Could ruin the game.

Metal Gear hasn't been steeped in realism since the first Solid. You fought a guy who could kill you with his mind and read your memory card to see that you'd been playing Konami games.

That just means its not realistic but its still grounded in realism, in MGS4 most of these unique abilities that bosses have come to nanomachines or advanced technology. Pyscho Mantis being telepathic is one thing but having Dinosaurs is just ridiculous and itll make MGS cartoony.

MGS has been cartoony for a long time!

One of the bosses - hell, you mentioned him! The Pain controls bees!

He throws bee grenades at you!

Grenades carried by bees!

That is to say nothing of his bee gun, which shoots bullet hornets!

MGS3 was the worst for it, the others weren't so bad.

From MGS1 the bosses weren't cartoony, they made out Sniper Wolf could stay still for days without moving a muscle, unrealistic but still it was just a woman with a sniper, Grey Fox came down to technology again whilst unrealistic he wasnt Naruto. Pyscho Mantis i think was something to do with nanomachines. Overall nothing cartoony.

MGS2 had Vamp and Fortune which also came down to nanomachines so it wasnt cartoony. MGS4s the same.

MGS3 besides the bosses wasnt cartoony, it just had some bizarre villains but it didnt take away from the rest of the game.

And now Peace Walkers gonna have huge monsters, thats just way over the top and silly, the earth MGS is set in is still supposed to be our earth, the cold war, cuban missle crisis and other events are things that happened in real life. Flying monsters dont fit in with the MGS series.

I don't know if I agree with this. 2, 3 & 4 all have unrealstic bosses, but I personally feel that MGS4 is far and away the winner of the three in that regard.

Either way, this news is really lame. Like others have said, this better be a special mode, because if I have to fight Monster Hunter bosses in the main storyline, I'll be pissed. I don't need Konami and Capcom stuffing Monster Hunter down my throat.

MGS2s bosses weren't all unrealistic, Olga was just a soldier, Fortune had that technology that stopped her from being hit, Fatman was just a fat guy on skates, Vamp was unrealistic till MGS4 were it explained it was nanomachines and Solidus was just a guy in a suit same as the bosses in MGS4.

Nanomachines don't explain how a dude can run on water or heal being shot in the forehead by a high caliber pistol

It explained that the nanomachines regenerated him making it impossible to kill him, so it does explain why a headshot doesn't kill him. Which is why when you remove the nanomachines he dies.

looks awesome. I like it, just adds a fun bonus to the game.
