Unfortunately, we both know that milking a successful franchise is the only way the big developers/publishers can make money into today's gaming market. Ask EA how the new IP thing worked out for them.
It's also the same reason that you will see Conviction on the PS3. There's just no benefit this generation for third parties to make a game 360 or PS3 exclusive (Excluding if they're paid to do so). The Wii on the other hand, it makes all kind of sense for games to be developed strictly for it. But with Move and Natal being released shortly... that line might be erased as well (High resolution Wii games being ported over).
