Forums - Sony - PS3 - DNS Error 80710102

I keep getting this damn error now all of a sudden. I have tried many different methods on the internet but none of them seem to work. Occasionally I can get my PS3 connected, but if I restart it or even out of the blue it cuts out.

What the hell is going on?

I have a Linksys router btw.

Yeah, also using google as well. It just isn't working for me. >.<

Someone was messing with this damn router today I think.

Now I can't even get the damn thing to get an IP address. God I hate this f'n router so much.

Try bypassing the router to see if that works

Oh as well, usually a powercycle of the router (unplug for 30 sec - the power) and plug back in will fix it.

As well if that doesn't you can do a hard reset on the router, look for a reset pinhole, stick in for about 2-3 seconds, no longer else you may fry the router..

Linksys are good routers, they are made by Cisco, it may just be old, stuff breaks :)

Do you have a brother or anything that likes to fuck with you? Sometimes I log into the router and put him on a banlist for certain sites he goes to hehe

Are you connected to the router with a wire, or wireless?

Or you can try entering a manual DNS on the PS3 network settings, like opendns. I use 208.67.222.222 because my comcastic dns seems to mess up every now and then.
