I really don't know what to say...

I honestly can't believe one of them had said "Well it's their fault for bringing their kids to a battle."
I admit, I can't say much to how they must feel, but I know my entire core would be crushed if I had found out I had done that whether I was cognizant of it at the time or not.

I know I shouldn't wish ignorance, but I really do wish I hadn't seen that.

@Kasz: I agree. I've always thought it weird that the military police operated as a part of the military. I'm curious if it's carried out the same way in other countries...

For the most part yes. It's sadly the same with our government too... who punishes senators? Why other senators.

I thought judges would punish senators?

That was disgusting. Isn't it common decency to help someone you see crawling, bleeding on the ground. Not one of the men in the minivan had a weapon. Hell if they can't tell the difference between an ak and a camera what the hell are they doing being soldiers.

@chairman

Your a piece of shit and shouldn't even be called a human being if you say that about killing children and innocent civilians.

You'd think... though the problem is a lot of the stuff senators do are slimey but hard to prove illegal... stuff like receiving "gifts" etc all fall under the "House Ethics commission."

Well actually they just suggest a form of punishment then the entire house decides.

I know, the US government sounds worse the more and more you learn about it.  It's likely why the US has so many vocal libretarians.

I honestly think the two party system has become flawed. If you want to run as a member of either party you have to completely conform to all their ideals or else you will be run out of the party as a "liberal" or "conservative". People are so focused on sticking with their parties we have lost all sense of individualism in government.

First, Wikileaks is amazing, there is some very astounding things on there.

Second,

This is why I believe the Military Police should be separated from the military.

It's kinda ridiculious that the military decides if the military did something right or wrong.

I agree.

@everything else, I'm completely speechless.  Wow.  I love Wikileaks.

Well to be honest, you can hold true to some of your principils if you run in the "deadlock" states... like say Ohio.  Of course that's only if your in a deadlock state... and the deadlock state happens to follow your message.  For example the biggest groups holding up healthcare were Antiabortion Democrats who wanted to keep their seats and Fiscally conservative Democrats (ditto.)

The problem though is those people don't get enough representation.

I liked the idea of half of congress and the senate being elected locally, and half being elected nationally... with the national seats going to particular parties and not specific people.  I bet more people would vote third party.

Third parties USED to be viable, but democrats and republicans have worked together to tweak the rules to make them nearly impossible to occur.  Hence why the last two "changes" have actually been when Democrats have fled the democratic party and taken over the Republican party.

Neo conservatism was actually a Democratic construct.

From the other thread:

I am disgusted.

It's incredible what we turn into when we're stripped of our humanity.

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

Horrific things like this makes my blood boil. These men should be discharged and put in prison. They have no respect for life. They should suffer for they have done.
