I just bough an HD TV two months ago and had played a majority of my games for PS3/360 in SD. If your not used to seeing HD TV you won't notice and you will still have a blast. The HD does make the games look at least twice as good as a SD TV. I would say you don't experience the games in their fullest true potential until you play in HD.
