Blu-ray tech and the PS3 just needs to get cheaper. Right now it's too expensive of a process for them to bother with.

I don't know why people always come up with this. If the PS3 ever gets hacked, it won't be long until ISOloaders come out which start the games from the HDD. And even if you have to use Blu-Rays, most games use single-layer discs, and a single blank isn't much more than 3-4 dollars anymore.

Not that I support piracy, but I'm thinking logical.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Probably by the end of it's life cycle like the Gamecube.

Wasn't the GC hacked within the first year it was out?

All I know is by the final year of the GC's lifespan, pirated GC games really took off.

You can't copy games on the HDD that easily because of the HDD encryption...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

And you think hackers won't crack that, too? If the PS3 is opened once, everything else is just a matter of time. Look at the PSP. The first hacks allowed simple homebrews like Pong. Now we have CFW which allows ISO loading right from the Memory Stick.

My point is, once somebody hacks itself into the system, decrypts important keys etc., Sony is done for. The only thing they can do is to ensure it will never opened. And thus far Sony made a terrific job.

yes it will get hacked probably renabling otherOS feature and even let boot many firmwares.

a hacked one and a default one. (perfect form of hacking). since it's stored on the HDD now.

it's just a matter of time really,

though otherOS was nice to have, but then some guy have to brag about hacking the ps3 with other OS feature.
