Virtual Reality. Will make the sex scenes in future Bioware games MUCH more interesting. Tali'Zorah here I come!!!!!
*After weird Quarian sex* Damn! Well that was different!! Maybe VR isn't such a good thing after all.

This is basically what I am looking forward to, too. Hopefully it is available and confirmed 100% safe before I get too old to care. I want my games and entertainment to be like me living in it and actually controlling every action from the main character's point of view. |
Same, except it will need some...tweaks. I don't want to feel constantly tired in a sports game for example, or to get really tired sprinting around in an FPS. I want to be like Superman.
Also, I believe superhero games would perform considerably better once we are "in the game" :P

Not yet on handhelds and consoles.
I hope the industry goes back to the basics with virtual reality:

Would be nice being able to headtrack all the way around you, for example look at your own body and see you are holding a gun (or sword and shield etc) or for example see yourself racing from within a car, look through the side windows moving your head, see the interior of your car while looking through the rear window, etc, etc.
Actually in the 80s, early 90s I would have expected we would be at that point by now.
Time travel!
In all seriousness, maybe holograms? Or VR? Those probably won't come to fruition for quite awhile though..
Wouldn't it be cool watching a movie with remote friends? Looking from the eyes of your PS home avatar and seeing your friend's avatars making gestures (through for instance PS Move controls, with camera headtracking) and talk to them in realtime about the movie (with lip synching technlogy like found in Uncharted 2) from within a virtual cinema. 8-)
Sadly this will still take a while. IMO next to being cool this could be great for long distance split up families and awesome for many handicapped people.
