Yup, it's a Kitase thing, he likes to innovate, even on the sound department. That's why I didn't understand the criticism for FFXIII not having the FF theme, since it was not the first one to do it, and FFX seems to be beloved here on the forum.

Yeah X was out of this world IMO.
I'm glad that they have stated XIV and XV will be more traditional though.
It is awesome seeing this stuff over and over. It just doesn't get dull to me. Loves it.

FFX is an awesome game, no question there. But there's a ton of parallels that can be traced between FFX and FFXIII, especially when both touch Religious Fanaticism (Yevon in FFX and L'Cie fear on FFXIII).
I'm all for a more traditional approach, it's just the MMORPG approach that turns me off FFXIV. Hopefully in FFXV we will have the good old SP FF back :)

Final Fantasy II, X and XIII were the only ones that didn't have the Opening Theme.

I forgot about FF II. The remake versions did have the Opening Theme (at least the PSP one does), but the original didn't, that's true.
I just find it funny how people continue to claim that FFXIII sucks because it's the only FF that doesn't have a lot of classical things that any FF has, when other FFs have done the same xD
