Forums - Sony - If I have one thing to ask of Insomniac this year...

Trophies for FoM would be cool but I think I'd rather see them concentrate either on R3 or something new.

Please Insomniac buy the rights of Spyro and make the best platform ever!
This would be a dream! =)

"but the recent Ratchet games,no matter how good the quality of the game-play is,have been over looked by the more mature audience that the PS3 has acquired this generation"

Ratchet and clank have never ever sold good in there first weeks, cant you see how crappy the game started and know its at nearly 1 million and will eventually get to 2 million, if you ask me a game that reaches 2 million is a large success in my views and the views of others !!!!!!!!!!!!

There's been a lot of Insomnia talk so far in 2010,more rumours of them going multiplatform and with Sony consistently announcing annoucements people have been betting on Resistance 3 announcement. And of course, the first Resistance was 2006,the second was 2008...so now it's 2010.

Insomniac are busy bees, they'd done so much work for Playstation, but the recent Ratchet games,no matter how good the quality of the gameplay is,have been over looked by the more mature audience that the PS3 has acquired this generation. The first Resistance of course was brilliant, where as the second was a slight letdown,so Insomniac have fallen on some harsh times with the fans for not delivering it seems.

I of course can't wait for their next games, which obviously one of them is indeed Resistance 3,but if I have one wish of them,it's to have an update for the first Resistance,an update for trophies.

Resistance is possibly one of my favourite games in the last decade,it was the best launch title I've seen on any console, and although graphically is behind the times in comparison to Uncharted 2,Killzone 2 and even it's sequel Resistance 2,but it's gameplay is solid,it's a fun game, harder than the 2nd,a better online,a better weapons system,a better health system and all around better everything over its sequel. It deserves trophies, anyone agree?

Better than Super Mario 64 ?

as the man said, make it stand out.... its competeing with battlefiedl, killzone and MW.

There is no doubt that the first one sold better than the second one. Or that the campaign of the first is better than the second. I just hope R3 returns to R1 formula. I have hope that it will, considering a few statements Insomniac issues a few months ago. Or maybe a year ago, not sure.

I actually enjoyed both of them about the same.  Since they switched the formula from R1 to R2, it would be a little odd to go back to the R1 formula now.  Either take the best parts of 1 and 2 and make some type of hybrid or remake everything.  Something revolutionary as asked above.

There are fans of each right now, so either way they will be allienating some part of their fanbase.   This is why Im more for something new.

let resistance die and do a modern warfare game to rival medal of honor and MW

I agree with the fact that I wanna see more concentration on R3,but there was already a reward system in FoM from what I can remember, and the online reward system for getting headshots, three kills, five kills etc...it would be an easy game to put trophies in I imagine, several weeks of work at the most for a small team.

I love Ratchet, but I don't think the support for the series is there at the moment on a massive scale,so I'd like to see a ne IP more than anything alongside Resistance 3.

honestly best solution for sony and insomniac is that insomnica should focus on a modern warfare game as they are the most popular genre at the moment.

a very good one that can stand against MW1 and 2

resistance only apeals to Halo fans (as I have seen between my friends) and honestly halo 3 is much better than Resistance 2 (even though i hate both of them)

there is no modern warfare exclusive(except for socom but that's TPS not FPS) and i think there is a big potential there.

Yes,but killzone is on par with those MW games, and is exclusive to Playstation 3.
Resistance 2 is a pain in the ass,but there were some aspects about it that were good. Now with MAG out they can take a look at what Zipper did and expand the online mode even further.
If they take what made the 1st game as brilliant as it was and take the good parts of Resistance 2,and add some new things,Resistance 3 could really work.I think the IP still has a lot to offer us.
And remember Insomniac is independent,if Sony pressured them to do anything,I imagine they may be more inclined to go multiplatform, which no one wants really.

My own wish list:

1. Keep R2's health system, health-packs are a relic of the 1998-2008 era of gaming, but bring back the weapon wheel and more of the wide-open setpiece battles of R1. Of course, there are game balance issues here, but the wheel system can be modified to make sure it meshes with the action. My only critique of R2, unquestionably a better game than R1, was that I wanted more urban brawler action, but the story didn't spend much time there.

2. R2's coop is magnificent. Run wild with this.

3. Some non-Anglo-American locations.
