I can't beat Odin, I looked up how to beat him but I'm just bad at this game. I don't know what thay keep saying to attach or anything, I just don't understand the game well at all. I think that it's not my type of game (I never played a ff game before) and it's really hard. And no, I don't suck at games, I could beat almost everything but this is something that I just can't get a hang of. Is it only me?

btw this game is really great if I was good at it, but I'm not.

oh and one more thing, is demons souls about the same when it comes to combat, because if it's not then I might give it a go

thank you

It took me couple of times too.  Keep in mind that different attacks have different effect.

I believe I beat him by switching paradigms between Ravager+Ravager for attacking and Ravager+Medic for when health was low.

If you still can't beat him do a bit more grinding - go back and level up some more.

I did it starting with Lightning on medic and Hope on the buffing role (sorry, Japanese version has other names so not sure what that would be). Once he is done with buffing switch to Lightning on Ravager and Hope on medic. Then there is a shield skill Odin does, during which he doesn't attack, so during those both on ravager.

Beginning = Synergist / Medic

Odin non-shielded = Ravager / Ravager
Odin shielded = Medic / Medic

That's what I did anyway.

I beat him by healing hope and hitting him with magic. A warning though, Odin is childs play compared to the others.

xbbjf9s - I know that's why I think the games not for me lol

I'm actually much in favour of games operating like this instead of offering you the option to just go grind and roflstomp the boss.

However, if you don't find yourself pleased by having to rethink strategy and try out different approaches, just get a guide (I mean online, not even necessary some printed guide). Reading up on some fights might also get you used to the system and you might find yourself overcoming later battles on your own.

In the end, the game has a lot of battles, but it's also got a story and characters, as well as just beautiful to look at visuals, so don't drop it just for the battles.

If you think FF13 is really hard, have a lot of fun with Demon's Souls, which makes FF13 look like Hannah Montana the Game.

Strategy? switching paradigm every 5-10 seconds and you'll win almost every god damn battle. Wow it take alot of brain thinking right? even if the first paradigm works fine just switch it every 5-10 seconds.
