Forums - Microsoft - Natal will “surprise you”, says Greenberg

Aaron Greenberg has said that the variety of games slated for Natal this year will “surprise” people.

Speaking in the latest issue of Edge (via CVG), Greenberg said that the games portfolio for it was thought out “years in advance”.

“The potential is tremendous and we have thought out the portfolio years in advance,” he said. “I think people will be surprised even in the first year by the variety of experiences you’ll get. The beauty of Natal is that it brings you, male or female, young or old, an experience that everyone can enjoy.

“Whether it’s gaming experiences or lifestyle experiences, everything we’re doing in the design is about thinking of a way anyone can step in front of it and be able to use it in a matter of seconds.

“Sure, we could have done a motion controller if we wanted to, but that’s not who we are. We’re a team that makes big bets. Natal is a big bet, and we think it’s a game changer.”

Greenberg previously stated that Microsoft was going to be “very careful” with what it releases for the hands-free controller.

We will find out more at E3 in June, when Microsoft holds its presser and Natal event, we reckon.

I think they can pull at least one amazing game out of the bag this winter.

He does have two conferrences this year!

Tease.

I 'm neither MS nor Greenberg fan, but I see a nice potential too. Some of its limits won't make it universal, but with the right games it could compete with Balance Board, not a little achievement if it succeeds.
BTW this is the intelligence of Move and Natal strategies: instead of attacking Wii frontally, they attack its two most lucrative, but optional and so inherently weaker than the main unit, add-ons (that's why Malstrom went into denial and got even madder than usual ).

Cool. At E3 we'll indeed see if it is a game changer and has fun and unique apps.

I remember the folks at Nintendo saying that we would say "Wow!" when we saw the Wii's graphics. Is this a similar boast?
