Next person to post a pointless comment about the PS3 and 3DO gets a 1 day ban.

I wish I could post a picture of my Jaguar, but I'm bound by shame.

According to wikipedia, it launched at $600 in America in september of 1993 and the playstion launched in Dec. of 1995. It was dead before playstation ever arrived

So this means I can make a pointless post about either the PS3 or the 3DO.

I'll go with the 3DO.

Neat!

No, just kidding, I won't ban anyone. But seriously, it's completely off topic and immature. Consistent trolling of the nature will be call for chastisement...

Posting my Nomad would be slightly less shameful, but I haven't been able to find the damn thing for the longest time.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3DO_Interactive_Multiplayer

Despite a highly-promoted launch (including being named Time Magazine's "1994 Product of the Year") and a host of cutting-edge technologies, 3DO's high price ($699.95 USD at launch), limited 3rd-party developer support, and an over-saturated console market prevented the system from achieving success comparable to competitors Sony, Sega and Nintendo.

I quoted this for 2 reasons.  First, it shows the price.  Second it's very specific about who the competitors were.  The 3DO wasn't discontinued until 1996.  You are simply completely incorrect. Truthfully it was dead without competition because of it's price, but it wasn't the SNES that put the nail in its coffin.

Yeah, funny thing, I was thinking about getting the 3DO...

"Hey mom, the 3DO looks so cool!"

"No boy, it's too expensive!" "Hey, why about buying the nice Atari (Jaguar) that all the kids have been talking about?"

"What?" "I haven't even heard of it..."

"Well, it's much cheaper, so I'm getting it."

I don't hold it against her, but still, damn.

Wow, you had money to burn. Ever regret it?

Regret?  Well, I was 8 so not really.  My parents bought it.  I just never let them throw any game systems out because I collect them.  We actually had a lot of fun with it to be honest.  Twisted was an especially awesome family game. I had fun with Mad Dog 2 and Alone in the Dark is an absolute masterpiece.  Still the original great Survival Horror game.

Look to the right where it says first available in America and Canada in 1993. It had further renditions by Sanyo and Goldstar in 1994. In fact the price was reduced in fall of 1994 to $499. It did launch in Sep. 1993.
