People already posting trouble causing stuff? That was pretty fast.

OT: Never used the feature, so it won't affect me much.

I'm looking at the posts in this thread.  Who exactly is posting "trouble causing stuff"?

What was the purpose of your first post? I can't judge the intention, but I can see that becoming an issue.

I thought I made my position clear when this was first rumored. I stated that I would not go back on PSN. It later came to my attention that the firmware updates are also released on new game discs. So... to avoid the update I won't buy any new games after this is released

I hate these updates TBH, which is why I never log into PSN as they take ages for me and who wants to wait for stuff that doesn't add anything relevant to their console? In any case I don't see a problem with them otherwise and for people who can get them in a timely manner they get to enjoy them whereas they can take over an hour for me.

Your interweb speed must be way worse than mine. But then again you are in the Waikato so you don't have access to glorious Saturn digital cable internet and instead have to satisfy yourself with sucking data through the narrow Telecom copper straw.

Sadly, for a highschool student without a job. That isn't an option.

Im on the $60 unlimited plan which means certain areas of the internet are really slowed down hard and PSN is one of them. Otherwise I get 1.5MB per second on most downloads, unfortunately PSN is not one of those.

Well, no problem was more meant for I did not see a problem with your statement.  This just seems the best option for me, since I use the PS3 as a media server (through a YDL samba server) + to play games.  $299 slim might end up just being my cheapest option (not that Im happy Ill have to do this)

As to your current delemma,  Sorry to hear it.
