Don't upgrade. Do a fresh install.

Around the Network

Hmm I see, so I guess my best bet would just to wait and buy an external. I'm sure if I look around I can find a 1TB one (That'd be used for alsorts) for around £70-80, however, I'll be waiting 3-4 weeks before that, heck, maybe even longer, the fact being that my old monitor died, so I've forked out £120 for this new monitor (22" 1080p Widescreen by Acer, it's pretty amazing quality, and the colour range is outstanding), and since I'm still in college, I only get £20 a week EMA, but then a priority over installing Windows 7, would be the God of War Trilogy Edition which is out at the end of April...

... Hmm, maybe I'll just forget about it for the time being.

So uhh, just wondering, did you read my post at all? I said I have too much work etc. that I can't afford to lose, thus doing a fresh install is not an option unless I can find an external HDD.

It won't work well unless you do a fresh install.

Microsoft's XP extended support goes until 2014.  However, W7's adoption rate is very high so XP is on the way out.

Still, your XP computer isn't going to simply implode in 2014 so take it with a grain of salt.

ah, for some reason I thought it was 2011

also, that would be funny, loads of PC's just going "boom!" on the day the support goes

Well the main reason was because I wanted to play Just Cause 2 on the PC, since there's mods out for it already etc. that make it look tons more fun, and the game is cheaper for the PC than PS360 anyways, lol.

My computer meets all of the requirements (Goes over double on most of them, thanks to my 8GB DDR3 RAM and ATI 4870X2, which is 2GB GDDR5, lol...), but I tried to install the demo, and it said I'm not using the correct version of Windows, so I went to www.SystemRequirementsLab.com and it said I NEED Vista or 7, so yeah.
