I recently bought and beat AC for the PS3 two days ago, wasn't what I expected. It had some bad design choices and bad implementation of its ideas but it was still a good experence for the most part. Here I've listed all the pros/cons of the game I have seen. Afterwards I wanted to talk about the ending and the story, which is pretty interesting if you've studied that stuff in college, or highschool.
As you can tell, It looks like theres more bad than good in this game. Thats not the case. Most of the stuff rarely happens but it does happen nontheless. I dont know if the xbox 360 version has less problems but these are all the flaws I saw in the PS3 version when I played it. :(
Pro:
Beautiful landscapes, Think Oblivion with Legend of Zelda or Shadow of the Collosses.
Extremly fun to explore and climb buildings
Fun to run away from guards and charge through crowds.
Sound is great and engaging. VO work is top notch.
Artificial AI for the citizens are amazing. Its fun to hear thier comments when you climb walls and such. "Oh my goodnes hes going to hurt himself!" or "Odd, I've never seen anyone do that before..."
Story is either love it or hate it. I love it :D
Does a good Job staying as close to history as posible.
Art for buidlings and architecture is awesome.
Does a good job not to offend either Christians or Muslims.
Cons:
Altair can survive 50 foot drops, can take out 20 guards by himself and has the stamina to climb chapels and mosques with ease...............but he doesn't know how to swim.
Your years of training climbing up walls and jumping ledges isn't as useful as you think, since every guard in Acre, Jewrusalem, and Damascus has the same skills and can keep up with you no problem.
...Unless you jump in a haystack.
Mental people like to shove you every chance they get, ignoring everyone else in the process.
Its common to see 5 or 6 beggars look exactly the same.
Guards will ignore you if you pray...
Its normal to fall through a solid building or to see a walking guard split in half.
Saving a priest or scholar will give you a group of white robed intellectuals to follow you around...but saving a woman will give you a posse of hairy, muscular men....good luck with that
The laws of gravity dont apply to hay.
You can't enter buildings or open doors.
Its common to get lost traveling the Kingdom. Even though you have a radar and a map.
The sun never falls or rises.
No matter how many guards surround you, dont panic. They have manners and will attack only one at a time.
All other assassins suck. They always want you to save them, kill their targets, or collect flags.
Combat requires button mashing for the most part.
Guards can't ride horses.
You can't skip cutscenes....EVAR
Theres a crossbow in the opening cinematics but not in the game. R U SERIOUS?
