Forums - Gaming - Possible hardware stats error?

I think I noticed an error in VGChartzs' Gamecube hardware sales data.  For the week beginning 11/11/01 and ending 11/17/01, the site lists 475112 Gamecube units sold in America.  However, the Gamecube did not launch until November 18th, 2001 in America.  Does the sales data for 11/11/01-11/17/01 include preorder sales?  Is that why it's greater than zero?

Not sure and too lazy to look up, but 'America' is pretty much all of the Americas. Maybe it released a week earlier in some areas?

Hm, interesting anyone else have an idea?

And I think it is just USA, since it says "America" is the region, not "Americas".

It's not just USA. This is a fact.

america does not equal usa. the us is just a part of america. and on this site I know they include canada in amerca, and probably mexico and central america

Is old who cares now. What I do care is the games coming out now. Exclusives and all that stuff

edit: oops, thought you had said the GC came out the 17th.

I don't know why there are sales earlier than the 18th. People may have broke the street date

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
