Hey, remember when a Sony marketing manager confirmed LittleBigPlanet 2’s existence?

Yeah, not so much, says Sony.

Speaking with Connected Consoles, an SCEE rep wiped the grins right off LBP fans’ faces with this little number:

“As demonstrated recently at GDC, LittleBigPlanet has been shown as an example of how an existing game could benefit from PlayStation Move Motion Controller support. This is not a confirmation of LittleBigPlanet 2, and we do not have any announcements to make about the LittleBigPlanet franchise.”

Your parade? Rained on. Drenched to the bone. Then thrown off a cliff and struck by lightning. In slow-motion, actually. It was kind of awesome. You should have seen it.

Er, we mean, we’re very sorry for your loss.

I don't think this necessarily means that there wont be a sequel, the game sold really well and was received by critics positively

Sony (as well as Nintendo and Microsoft) like to play it cool concerning their franchises...they are just waiting for the right time to announce a sequel

I am sure there will be sequel this only means it hasn't been officially announced yet.

I am sure they won't let the game/series to rest, as I'm sure they'll announce a sequel sometime this year (E3 would be the ideal place).

I am only want to see LBP2 on the PS4. It's a game that should be expanded upon. Sequels aren't required for this kind of game.

I was surprised to begin with that ppl were saying LBP2 was coming, bc a while back I read on Media Molecule's website that they were not planning to create a sequel. Instead, they said they were brainstorming and apparently came across something genius, pretty sure they were meaning an idea for a new game. Anyways, I definitely think there could be a lot of improvements made to LBP, but I think I'd rather see them create a new IP like someone else said. MM is awesome.
