Valkyria Chronicles is the Fallout 3 VATS combat system infused with an everyday SRPG such as Fire Emblem or Shining Force. It's not a JRPG, it's a Strategy RPG.

For me, its a SRPG and also a JRPG.
Just like Fire Emblem, Jeanne d'Arc, Wild Arms XF and all those other similar games.

You know, now that I think about it, what the hell was Pong?  Puzzle?  Sport?  JRPG?  I  guess it was never simple.

Its a shooter. Those round things flying around are obviously bullets of some kind.

jrpgs are not defined by gaming gerne but of company and the country where it was created

I wouldn't classify as an JRPG, but I have no idea what to call it. The accursed inter-genre breeding has caused issue again!

Fundamentally, there's an issue with the genres JRPG and WRPG. Some believe that a JRPG is merely an RPG made in Japan, while a WRPG is an RPG made in "the west". Others believe JRPG is an actual genre, quintessentially defined by games like FF and DQ, whereas WRPGs are more defined as a sort of action RPG.

I'm in camp with the former, mostly because there are other, easily defined, sub-genres of Turn-based RPG, and Strategy RPG, and Action RPG that cover most of the grounds of what the latter camp refers to with JRPG and WRPG.
