Forums - Gaming - TV attack on gaming

We had this thread on Sunday. My nerd rage is still burning from that thread!

Have you ever noticed that when they have these type of debates they get 1 gaming person and 2 anti gaming people on the program.

The women was pretty stupid. The person that represented the industry was well informed and the old man wasn't too bad either. The woman was just completely clueless, I seriously doubt that she hasn't enjoyed a violent film before for example. Which is a voilent form of entertainment.

Agreed, she was clueless and ignorant. But this same thing can be said about what happened when violent movies and comics started emerging. There was amss ignorance about their effects on "our childrens"  then later generations started gaining power and didnt care making the issues die in limbo.

That lady has no idea what she is talking about.
The game industry doesn't make kids play violent video games, parents have to be more careful on what they buy for their kids.

It's especially funny when you consider the same show had the same woman on talking about a range of sex toys.... I wonder what they'd think if their kids were playing with those instead...

The lady is Julie Peasgood.

Look up her history and you'll see that she isn't in any "position" (after you look her up you'll understand this...) to criticize the use of different forms of media and the content they provide to consumers.

Having said that I won't give this event any more thought or else I'll got on a 3 page rant about what's wrong with society and people having too much time. :P
