I think 'if' they are going to go with Subscriptions, they will make it like some internet companies, so that when you reach a certain megabyte/gigabyte then the cost goes up.
In Sony's case they will offer FREE online game play at a certain limit, like every month is 20-30hours of free online play, anything over is for paid subscribers.
Casual online gamers get FREE online play because they play less then the time allowed, and Sony still gets to use FREE online in their ads.
Hardcore online gamers have to pay for anything over the time allowed, plus get cross-chat and other perks.
But this is just a suggestion, not saying this is what it will be obviously.

what. That is just rediculous. Frankly, microsoft is the only company that would try to get you to pay for your internet twice (that I know of you can correct me if i'm wrong.. but that still doesn't mean it's alright.)
Using your internet on your consoles will remain free.
Sony said All current services will remain free. Limiting how long people can play online for free would just be stupid. I don't see them doing this. They said themselves that it would all be premium services. .. Additional features not on psn now. Like early demos (probably) and cross game voice chat. (likely)
