Forums - Sony - PSN Subrcription service

There have been rumors going on about this and i haven't been paying attention. Cross game chat will most like be in the service for sure but what else do you think it will include? Also how much do you think it will cost?

I don't know how much it will cost but I hope the features that are offered now stay FREE!

I think 'if' they are going to go with Subscriptions, they will make it like some internet companies, so that when you reach a certain megabyte/gigabyte then the cost goes up.

In Sony's case they will offer FREE online game play at a certain limit, like every month is 20-30hours of free online play, anything over is for paid subscribers.

Casual online gamers get FREE online play because they play less then the time allowed, and Sony still gets to use FREE online in their ads.

Hardcore online gamers have to pay for anything over the time allowed, plus get cross-chat and other perks.

But this is just a suggestion, not saying this is what it will be obviously.

I dont see how this is even a possibility.    Online play will not be a "Premium" feature, there will be no paying for it on the PS3

that would be stupid, they want more people to play MORE online, so why limit their online time?

Internet companies don't do that in the US.

and suggestion or not.....go die for even thinking of that suggestion.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

Theres always the option like with SOCOM PSP that online gaming is only free for a title if you buy it new.

Tease.

That's the Sony questionnaire that was floating around at some point. http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/158197-sony-reveals-huge-plans-for-potential-psn-premium-service/survey-noscale.jpg

Personally I don't see online play entering a paid model, it's the one flagship free service that's not free on XBL, and any schemes to make that paid would do bad image damage.
