Why laptop? You need the portability that badly? They are underpowered for gaming due to heating issues. For what you pay for a decent gaming laptop you could get a really good PC, that probably wont overheat.

Yep, and its not easy to upgrade laptops either. So in <3 years your "gaming" laptop will be obsolete and you have to shell out another $700 for another laptop that can, again, not run new games.

I'm sure he understands that dynamic. Gaming Desktops severely lack in portability which is a big negative.
Game Informer ran an article on a laptop that would fit your wish list this month.
