M$ is going to have a TALL mountain of expectation to climb for this device, so they had better be bringing their serious A game for this.

This is what worries me. I dont understand or see how this is going to really change our lives drastically like all of these people are saying. Its seriously being touted like its on par with the discovery of antibiotics, the microwave or even color TV.

I think something like this being trickled out and fine tuned before going all in the way MSFT appears to be would have been a better idea, but i guess we will see. I'd really like for people to stop saying how life altering and revolutionary its going to be across more than gaming and tell me why it will be.

Hmmm...I'm not sure about this "changing our lives drastically" stuff, but I definitely see how Natal push us further along the line of interative experiences in gaming.  If you're looking for a life changing experience, you're probably better off going off for 6 months to a 1 year in some developing country and having a positive effect on the lives of some people in need.

well no shit. Keep your facetious, condescending comments to yourself.

But no one is saying why this is the best tech, they keep saying its the best tech. They keep saying people with no interest in videogames will spend $300 to get a 360 and natal (low end since we dont know natals cost) Its going to replace the remote. Its going to replace remotes. Im sorry but MSFT and all of the people commenting about natal keep saying this is going be in our living rooms, controling the way we watch tv, interact with our computers and watch movies...thats pretty life altering if you ask me.

Don't you have to own and use a 360 for it to alter your life?  Anyway, many posters on this site think it's just a copy of eyepet anyway, so no worries...

@ bolded, No i dont, apparently i know more about natal than you do.

I dont care what other posters say, this thread isnt about what other posters say, im commenting on every single person thats in the "business" who apparently knows these vast great mystical secrets about what natal can accomplish telling us its the second coming and stopping there, never elaborating and telling us how it will be implemented, how it will be the best tech of 2010, how it will "revolutionize" Thats what im commenting on.

We have a kick ball game. We have a burnout demo that is atrotious for controlling a finite game like burnout which requires micro controlling, if youve ever played it try accomplishing any race in that game or hitting a billboard off an adjacent ramp on the freeway driving through oncoming traffic. I dont see it, i hear it, i read it hollow comments, but i dont see it.

No it's not. Stop exaggerating to prove your point.

I've had enough of that tonight.

It's ben spoken about enough times how it could be put into tvs for control or museums etc for interative tours. those are just to very simplistic off the cuff ideas.

I'm glad you've hada chance to check out Natal...I'm hoping to attend E3 this year to get a first hand experience before I comment on it's impact.  I'd rather take a wait and see approach, then to sling mud at something I've not experienced first hand, but hey...that's just me.  Anyway, I'm as skeptic about how Natal will be implemented, but I certianly see great potential in the tech...

People do know that Natal will be compatable with the PC?
you don't need to buy a 360 and natal to use it.
Like many have said I'm interested in what the weird little genius' on t'internet will do with it.

The hype surrounding Natal is unbeliavable, I hope MS delivers, if well priced and full of software, I'll purchase one.

Im not commenting on its impact im commenting on the lack of ellaboration on everyone saying it WILL have a big impact. Sorry, but you dont need to play somethign to see controls are offputting (speaking of burnout only), anyone that defends the burnout demo as quality is not viewing anything objectively.

I really dont think asking for quality ellaboration from everyone trying to sell this product on hype is mudslinging.

gee sorry i guess if YOUVE had enough of that tonight i better zip my lips, sir.

How can it be put into TV's? I missed that, i remember being told it could replace the remote control...but how exactly, voice recognition, so someone could be a jerk and say something to change my volume or channels? I can move my hand to change channels? What if someone waves goodbye how gets up quickly would it interfere. That smy point, dont tell me "it could replace the remote contorl in a living room" and stop, tell me how becaus ei dont see it.

This is rational questioning on my part and lack of substance on the folks talking up natal. Why is it needed for museums for interactive tours? Will it put you with a dinosaur in a 3d world? On a single screen? So i could interact with a Sabretooth Tiger at a museum rather than actually looking at what teh museum has from the past? How is it used for a tour? Like a webcam? I just keep hearing these ambitous generalized claims but no substance.

So, Molyneux is praising Heavy Rain and Rubin is praising Natal. There may be hope for us, yet.

funny how the men with ties to the companies can enjoy all games and appreciate something from a competitor, while gamers (any joe blow) become so defensive toward the console they invested a couple hundred bucks into, and attack the competitors. i guess an emotional tie to an inanimate object is just that much stronger to ppl than one where ppl have put their sweat n blood into making a game they can call their own.

reminds me of in fever pitch where the fans are totally devastated by a loss and then later they see the players enjoying a steak dinner.
