Forums - Sony - Here's hoping my PS3 freeze issue is resolved.

Ok, I was facing an issue where my PS3 appeared to be freezing.  So, I had put it away and moved, and finally took it out tonight to try it out, and see what is up.

Ok, I have a TV that is supposed to go to 720P.  Well, I start up my PS3 and see it has a resolution that looked too high.  I am wondering what the heck happened, so I check.  It was set to 1080P as max resolution.  Well, I set it back to 720P and took it out for a test drive.  Did some Super Stardust, streamed some videos, etc...  Well, it seems to be fine now.  Not sure what the heck happened there.  But that is probably the culprit.  I need to fire up something longer and see how it goes.

Damn....1080p is a high ass resolution!

your TV must be able to do 1080P. or the screen wont show up. i would leave it on 1080P.

It shouldn't be able to do that.  When I had it locked at 720P, it worked fine.  So, I am sticking with that.  The TV is a 19" so NO WAY 1080P should do that.

At 19" not sure what 1080P gets you anyway.  The issue was I got repeated freezing of the video image like this.  I am speculating when a game calls on 1080p to happen, that is when there are problems.
