Forums - Gaming - Resoance of Fate Gets A 6.75 From Game Informer

I think i am observing a western trend to downplay HD JRPGs. Think with me: if HD JRPGs pick up (better western reviews) this generation which console do you think will receive most benefits? A japanese one or a north american?

After Playing White knight Chronicles, i lost all faith in Western JRPG reviews,,,,,, People should listen to user reviews instead

Currently Playing: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3), White Knight Chronicles (PS3), PES 2010 (PS3), Killzone 2 (PS3)

Games to Finish: Silent hill Homecoming (PS3), Valkyria Chronicles (PS3), Oblivion (PS3)

People really need to stop believing in this great Western conspiracy to ruin the JRPG industry.

A french website gave it a 8.5 http://www.jeuxvideo.com/articles/0001/00012515-resonance-of-fate-test.htm

Jeuxvideo is known to be a very harsh reviewer.

8.5 is very good from them.

they whined because the battle system a few atempts to get a good understand... they mark it down because it challenged them

So the learning curve is steep. That doesn't seem like a good point to criticize?

Like most are saying, JRPGs have been woefully underrated this gen. Lost Odyssey is one of my favorite JRPGs ever, it's highly regarded as a great game amongst most JRPG fans that I know yet it only has a 78 on Metacritic.

I think most reviewers only want one type of RPG to exist: the WRPG and anything that's not that is bad by default.

WRPGs are mostly bad for me aside from Mass Effect.

No because it's very rewarding once you get the hang of the gameplay.

Just like Mirror's Edge for example. At first the game is so-so and you don't really have the feeling of the flow. You stumble here and there loosing all speed. But once you get better at it, it's so much fun to go really fast because you can keep a fast pace and you really feel that flow.
