Michael Lynton, chairman and chief executive of Sony Pictures, says that audiences would be better off nibbling on granola bars, fruit salad, yogurt and vegetable crudités with dips. “I can almost imagine the Romans eating popcorn and drinking Coke at the Colosseum 2,000 years ago,” he told a convention of cinema owners in Las Vegas. “But by bringing healthier snacks into your concession stands you would be helping our country meet an urgent public health need.”

I'm tired of these people treating us like babies.

People are adults and will eat whatever they want.

Because when people see the fruit salad, they will immediately drop their Twizzlers and scream in delight.

I'm really not that worked up about this.

The man would like healthier options in movie theaters in one of the world's most obese countries. You could made a dozen arguments against it, but then again, who cares?

He wants healthier options what is the problem? Or you must really like Pizzafaces...

I would eat some of that stuff well I already do so.... Healthier options sounds good I do not see the problem with this. I do like me some super buttery popcorn at times too.

Salads are gay since Salad Creations made the slogan "Five dollars is fabulousssss!". Popcorn will preserve my manhood and my plaque build up!

Sounds like a good idea, and their surveys show that people will pay for the added concessions.

Me too!!  I walked in with a bag of McDonalds when I saw Avatar.

The movie sucked , but at least I got some MacDonalds goodness

Just be ready for the consequences later on. I saw lots of people regretting not eating Salad instead of junk food.
