Wow well that's a lot of opinion to take in :P

I'm not interested in any of the bundled games, they'd be sold straight away.. It would also be a brand new system so that's not an issue.. I don't need the Wi-Fi adapter or Live gold, was just wondering the price of them.

Basically my primary concern is the exclusives that are on XBOX 360 that I can't get anywhere else, all my multiplats would be for PS3 etc.. Also how long before the next gen starts?

Your guess is as good as anybody's for when next gen starts, but I would be willing to guess it's going to be a while.

As for the console exclusives, I still prefer those on consoles because I just don't like PC gaming.  I don't know about you or what kind of TV you have, but I very much more enjoy games on my TV and the simplicity of console games.

I personally think if you can afford to have a Wii, PS3, and 360 it's very much worth it because there are games on all three systems you don't want to miss out on.

Don't forget though that some multi-plats do actually come out better on the 360, so you'll be able to pick and choose for those if it matters to you at all.

You can usually find Xbox Live Gold 12-month subscription cards for about $30 on amazon every once in a while, but to do it through the Xbox directly is $50ish.

What really matters though is do you have a decent PC? If so, you might be able to pass up on the 360, just get Mass Effect and other such Xbox 360 "console exclusive" games on the PC. You might miss out on Alan Wake but at least you'd save a bunch of money. If you don't have a good PC, get the 360, it's cheap, and completely worth it in that case.

If you can pick up a console for less then half price... I think you gotta do it.

You know, if your secretly working on Wii-HD & PS4 games... he's going to hate you forever.

Everyone already hates tweterm already, he is anti-Sony after all.

OT: Puffy, think about this. Even if you hate everything about it after trying it for a couple months, you could just sell it then and MAKE MONEY! Who doesn't like money? Dumb people, that's who. . .

Hmm... I notice that there are quite a few people saying to buy it to flip (resell) it. I don't really think this is a good idea, since I'd guess that a lot of people who are interested in a 360 at this price are picking it up.

As for getting it for yourself, take a good look at the games availiable on it. Are there enough games to justify the cost of the system? The rule we use around here is 5 games make a system worth getting. If you can find 5 games that you want that are exclusive, then go for it.

I've always been against buying games/systems just for the sake of taking advantage of a good deal, especially when it comes to consoles. It's a lot of money to spend and if there are only a couple games you're interested in, you'll likely regret the purchase a little.

I bought my Xbox because of a $200 deal back when it cost $300 USD, even though I was only interested in Halo. Looking back, even though I enjoyed the system, it was a huge waste of money and I should never have bought it.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

@dunno001: I think he said his gf had some connections and hence the price, not everyone will be able to pick it up at that price.

So yeah.. I voted buy and ebay. Of course it can be played some before that, if one or two games really interest you.
My own experience with having all three systems (and I got my 360 last too, dead cheap too), is that I simply don't have the time for all of them now. Too many games coming out everywhere.
But don't let wi-fi and live disturb you, if you decide to get (and keep) the 360. Cable works too and since you can get the free online for multiplats on PSN, a Live subscribtion really only seems reasonable if you have a lot of friends with Live and no PSN.
