Razer to release a lefty DeathAdder mouse

It's possible that Razer is releasing another mouse I can get behind. Earlier this afternoon the peripheral manufacturer announced the DeathAdder Left Hand Edition ($59.99), a lefty twist on their regular DeathAdder mouse which houses a 3.5G infrared sensor and boasts a variety of features you can check out below the fold.

In an interview I ran centuries ago, I asked Razer president Robert Krakoff about left-handed mice. At the time I was fiddling with an Imperator review unit, an impressive mouse that I still use. Krakoff told me "we never say never," in regards to creating a left-handed mouse, "and if any gaming company were to offer a left-handed gaming mouse my guess is that it would be Razer." The man spoke true.

Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition Features List

All I can say is fucking finally. I've been wanting even a decent left handed mouse for years.

I agree twest, it's about time lefties get a good mouse!

They should release Razer Naga for lefties, it's one bad-ass mouse!

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

Wow, finally.

That would be cool, I'm just happy we're getting something.  For my first 2 1/2 years at work I was using a right handed mouse which sucked.

That isn't a picture of a death adder. That's a Lachesis. Also have you tried the Lachesis? It's perfectly symmetrical, or at least it looks like it.

I'm using a Copperhead now (I finally got around to bringing my own) and I like it, I've just wanted a left handed mouse for years and years and years that isn't crap.

I have to have something with a high DPI and that just doesn't really exist for any of the left handed mice out there I've seen.

Well, to bring up the Lachesis again, it goes up to 4000 DPI, and it is perfectly symmetrical. If you slap 2 quick DPI changer buttons under the wheel in the above picture, you have exactly what a Lachesis is. It looks the same from the other side.

Checked some pics, and that's a DeathAdder, Lachesis has a different curve and 2 buttons on top following the wheel.

Anyway, I like the link on Razer's site for the lefty mouse: http://www2.razerzone.com/lefthandftw/

Though I have two Razer mice right now (symmetrical - Diamondback and Copperhead), and I've been using a symmetrical mouse for the last 20 years... so not really in a hurry to get the new one. Though when I have to get a new one eventually, chances are this would be it.
