Forums - Sony - So I just bought Yakuza 3....

I had a massive trade in which turned into 102$ and I wanted to choose a game. There was no chance in hell I was getting FF13 or GoWIII, so I looked and I found it. The only copy of Yakuza 3 at the store. I asked some other people and many say they can't even find it in their city. I AM VICTORIOUSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Can Kazuma change costumes? In the demo I saw some clothes for sale. Also, it came with the DLC in the game which I thought was a Pre-Order exclusive.

There is another DLC which is the pre-order exclusive. It consists of 2 player mini-games and alternate costumes for Kazuma and Haruka. As far as I know, the only way to change his costume is with the DLC. He does take his shirt when he's fighting a boss though. Enjoy the game.

Is it any good? I wouldn't mind picking it up only because I love Japanese quirkiness

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

*read underlined sentence* ...uhm, why not? Definitely has more epic-ness than Yakuza 3.

I already bought to.

This game keeps getting better, and I think that was the dlc that was included for the costumes and minigames.

12 hours in with a 9% completion rate and I'm loving it so far. The story has been touching and charming, and the characters are well-developed. There's a bunch of things to do if you get bored of beating up street punks like side missions and mini-games like golf, darts, pool, karaoke, etc. There's bound to be a mini-game you'll enjoy.

There's a demo on PSN if you wanna check out how the game plays.

The DLC that came with the game is the tournaments and Haruka's request.

Edit: Forgot to mention that there are some cinematics that recap the story of Yakuza 1 & Yakuza 2 in case you haven't played the previous ones.

Turns out I got the got the preorder DLC from that card inside the case. I feel like I ripped them off lol, what a change!

I havent found a way to change costume yet. I used the code , but I think that was just a "I bought new" code not a preorder code, even though I preordered. I preordered through Amazon though, wasnt Gamestop the only place with a preorder code?

Oh, and the game pwns.... much more "fun" than FF or GoW IMO, though not nearly as graphically pretty. Playing Yakuza gives me that old River City Ransom nostalgia. ( though afaik your new moves comes from levelling up instead of buying books.... you can get books/dvds to make new weapons though!)

Did a power finisher holding a sign, dude ended up wearing it like a necklace. So many small touches in the game, so many "OMG WTF THAT WAS AWESOME" moments. Yakuza 3 has reminded me why I used to love so many Japanese games. It has the "magic", the magic that Squeenix and others used to have, that used to go above and beyond your expectations and provide those "oh snap that was cool" moments.
