Will the PSP hit 100+ million?

Yes 15 15.96%

No 79 84.04%

Total:94

So it's recently shipped 60 million since it's early 2005 launch, so with 5 years on the shelf it's at an average of 12 million per year (pretty impressive)

Sales have dipped, the PSPgo hasn't been the greatest of successes, and anymore revision arn't going to bring anything significant to the table to spur sales.

Going by VGChartz numbers, last year the PSP sold 9.5 million, however it's sales have severly dipped in the US recently. To hit 100 million it would need to stay on the market until 2014 at it's current pace.

no the sales are slowing and i belive sony will have released a psp2 by 2012, so the sales will slow even more after that so i dont think it can.

Yes cause sony will continue making it for the ten year plan and people will buy it if they make it.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

nope. It will end up somewhere between 75-80 million. 12 million this year with price drops and maybe only 5milj next year because release of PSP2 kills it. Then maybe couple of millions in 2012.

Are you seriously asking if a non-leading platform can almost double its sales after more than 5 years on the market?

Around the Network

Nope, it'd probably killed off by next year.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

It's not almost doubling ... 60/40.

PSP is a massive hit in Japan, and it's sales are still pretty steady there. Nobody think's it could be alive in Japan for a long time to come yet?

Seriously, pointless thread, because you know as well as everyone here, it's not going to happen.

It doesn't matter. Japan doesn't have the population to take PSP to 100 million. The drop off in the West is too severe, it's selling at near PS2 levels.
