Haha, ok sorry, in my defence i have never played any of these games (except for Mario Kart, and i play that one "casually", with a wheel).

so do I

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Maybe later down the line Sony will release a USB bluetooth adapter, or support one of the many existing types out there. Or maybe, it will just not support up to 4 with secondary device. I do like the fact that it is cordless. I wonder if remote control support is being added, I have not seen anything about that.

^Indeed. Still, you can use 4 wands (or 4 DS3) at the same time.
The worst limitation is only 2 players with dual controllers each.
But, speaking practically, after four years of Wii games, how many of them allow more than 2 people, each using wiimote and nunchuk? I bet that's a very scarce number.

scarce?

Red Steel as a launch title offered 4 player with nunchuks, as do Brawl and Mario Kart, the Wii's two best multiplayer games.

Well I can think of a simple solution, they create a USB peripheral that acts as a Bluetooth hub, they'd obviously have to give it the ability to pick up 8 (Or even more if needed) Bluetooth devices, but I really think it could work.

That's cool. For 4 player party games though, you'd expect very simplistic controls. LBP for example really just has movement, jump and grab. Everything else is pretty useless when it comes to playing the game. The wand has more than enough buttons for opening and using the menus in the game.

Makes sense. Also, as previously mentioned by someone, I can't think of any Wii games that have 4 player mutiplayer and necessitate having both Wiimote and nunchuk for the players, so while in theory this is a limitation, it should not really limit anything. Now the lag issue, if it will still be there at launch, that's something else.

Games that support 4 people and must use remotes/nunchucks

  • Mario Strikers Charged (the best multiplayer game on Wii)
  • NHL 2k10
  • PES 2009 (or any soccer)
  • NBA 2k10 (or any basketball)

None of them are forcing you to use a nun-chuck, but the following games use it and are typically gimped/casualized if they don't have the nunchuck.

  • Grand Slam Tennis (or any tennis)
  • Madden (or any football)
  • Mario Kart (the "best" control scheme if you want to be the fastest)
  • Brawl (it's better than just a Remote, but not as good as a classic/GC)
  • Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 & TV
  • Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
  • Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
  • TMNT Smash-Up
  • Wii Music

Obviously most those style games will either be limited to 2-player with motion, be gimped, or they won't support motion controls at all. I'm also sure that if I actually dug through the database I could find more that necessitate the controls.

I agree. It's so freaking fun.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

i seriously doubt 4 player would work well on most games anyway.

^
not a big sports fan, are you? football and hockey are two prime sports games for 4 players and they work very well.

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

So I don't see what the problem would be, I mean surely something like that isn't expensive to buy, what's all the commotion about exactly? o.O

Fair, and yet you should probably cut from that list the games that on Wii require a nunchuck for the analog stick, but on the PS3 you could play just using the default controller, such as Brawl or MK.
