PS VITA = LIFE

The official Vita thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=130023&page=1

Around the Network

Software moves hardware. The Wii didn't sell itself by virtue of just being, what sold it was Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, NSMB, etc... same deal with DS and Nintendogs, Mario Kart, Brain-Age, Pokemon, NSMB, etc.

We'll have to wait until E3 to know for sure, but the games shown so far have been pretty underwhelming and derivative. Right now Move doesn't really look like it can compete with what Nintendo does best...

The basic PS3 is already $299 and the Move starter bundle is going to be about $100, we already know people like the cheaper deals and that isn't too much of a deal.

Im my personal retail experience many are willing to pay a bit more to get the bundle with more.  In many cases they are just dumb enough to think if it costs more has a few more things it must be better.

Sorry, I didn't finish my thought because I'm flakey like that sometimes.

I agree, people will buy bundles because of the implied value, but since Wii's aren't sold out anymore you can easily find them.

A PS3 with a Move bundle and a Wii sitting next to each other to your typical casual gamer are essentially the same thing except:

  • The Wii has more things they have heard of (Mario, Wii Sports, Wii Fit)
  • The Wii is much cheaper while offering the same thing
  • The Wii is something their kids can play

-edit-

And please don't respond with OMG they aren't the same thing! or what about LBP, kids can play PS3 too! I know this, you know this, they don't know that.

Quite right, but the variables very greatly.

That casual gamer might also casually enjoy movies, PS3 is the choice.  Or that casual gamer might have a significant other that wants to play real games once more PS3 is the choice.

Eh, Wii has "real games" in abundance.  And it even has movies now actually.
