Forums - Gaming - How quickly does a game have to hook you before you put it away?

I've got to see potential early: About 15 minutes. If the game controls badly, well, that's pretty much it for me.

I could usually tell if its going to be good or not before I even open the case. I am that awesome.

I presume you apply that wisdom while regarding the case in the store...

Lol before the internet yes. But nowadays I can read reviews, watch gameplay videos, etc etc and tell if I will like it before I even open the case

I tend to give most games 30mins -60mins if it does not have by then I am just wasting my time. It is the same in the middle of game too. If I have played a game few hours liking it then get in a rut(bordom) for 30-60mins I will put it away pissed.

Yeah - me too.  I'm always surprised when people post that a game was nothing like they expected, etc. as I almost never find that as I will always research a title before buying.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Sometimes I'll even beat a game I don't like. Honestly, I don't have specific times. As long as a game isn't seriousley garbage, then I will most likely keep playing it to the end.

But then again there are times that I'll play a game for under two hours (I'm looking at you Dragon Age Origins) and I will NEVER EVER go back to it again.
