Sony Retakes Lead as Most Expensive Console

Funny chart but I think you're off the the online access.  Doesn't the Wii only charge for the browser but you can still play online games for free?

Also, your motion controller option I don't think takes into account that some Move games require two Move wands so you might actually need 8 for 4 people.

Also, I'm glad you posted this because otherwise fanboys would be calling for the OP's head.  Could you imagine if I had posted this?

The Wii online information is taken directly from Sony (click first link) Also, I didn't know you needed multiple lightsticks (or whatever they are called) until after I posted this.

I've now come to realize this chart isn't unbiased, but is typical pro Sony journalism.

I know the boxing needs two Move controllers, I don't know what others will.  I don't have the video handy, but it's on Kotaku somewhere.

Also, I like my old chart:

:-p

(and yes, that chart is absolutely a joke)

I don't understand why the Wifi adapter should be added to the 360 when it is an option. I've been playing on Xbox Live for years and I don't have a Wifi adapter.

I'd say the PS3 is probably the most expensive, but I think you're 'guessing' high on the controllers and to be fair, you should include the price of a blu ray player for the Wii and the 360 to get a total capability comparison - as you're assuming to get the full PS3 experience you need controllers, etc. to get the equivalent on Wii and 360 you need a BR player - 'cause I use it for movies a lot and would consider that in the equation if looking at a Wii and 360.

Prepare for lots of dissent, though. I see 6 pages I'm afraid to look at so you might have plenty already.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I love it that they thought Wii's online access was only free for 6mos. Yeah no....

Other than that spot on man, great job.

O_o

Wow, so much fail in one article.

Motion Controller $0 $50 (much better estimate than Pachter's IMO) $60 ($100 starter probably means $40 game and $20 PS Eye with $40 PS Move controller w/sub controller)

Fixed, of course I did have to estimate the motion controllers.

I can see this on the joke side but going by some these post it does not seem to be. Anyways, funny stuff thanks for the laugh.

lol, you removed all the useless stuff but left the WiFi. Also, the premise was casual gaming

Also, on a serious note, I just recently checked the PSEye costs and it runs $40 new. In all seriousness I breakdown the "starter" as so. $40 eye + $50 wand + Playstation Sports Resort (I really have no clue what it is called). This way it is actually a deal vs. buying everything seperate.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

funny I am sure it would have been the wii as most expensive :P
just needed to have the rows for things like balance board yes it would get N/A for the other two.
Classic controllersx4 since the others are already using dual analog controllers and if someone must get 4 motion and 4 regular for each why not the classic for the wii.
Plus rechargeable batteries.
A wireless motion bar
4 wii wheels
covers for the wii motes
and a cover for the balance board.
That would be a much better comparison :D
