| Roma said: it is funny how the Wii was a gimmick but now when Sony does it it is a great idea and everybody loves it... meh i will never understand how this human world works. anywho this is natural as everybody copies what is successful and Sony wants to play as well the good thing is that Nintendo is first so that makes them the top dog. they know what will work and even if they are not sure they are willing to take risks so they can grow. i am proud of Nintendo for being brave and innovate and they were right when stating that the Wii remote would be the standard way to play. and that bull shit with Sony doing it first 5 years ago should be thrown in the trash as Nintendo has the Power glove! some people know about it yet ignore it it seems lol good keep on lying to yourselves if it makes you feel good :P |
Sony made the Six Axis to try and compete with the Wii. Few developers use it and the "Move" Could be the same way.
I doubt it will but it could. Sony is trying to capture the Casual crowd with a fat priced $300 HD system with an ice cream scooper, while the Original Motion control console is $200.
Maybe Sony could be making a real PS3 slim and have it at $250 or even $200. This could have a real impact on the Wii sales.
the funny thing is that they have been working on it for so long yet they do not have good software to show the thing with. reminds me of presentations that i have a long time to prepare for yet i end up not doing anything until the last week or so :P
@garnett well if the price is to much then they will have a hard time succeeding. but look at the bright side it seems like a more comfortable vibrator and an ice cream scooper you know the PS3 only does everything as one of the adds stated :P
well it sounds funny in my head anyway :)

I love when people bring up the old videos on Sony's motion tech to make a point in validating it's originality.
Nintendo didn't just come up with this tech either, they had it in the works for years also, but when was the last time you saw Nintendo's tech get leaked mainstream? Exactly.
To find an older video to prove Nintendo was the originator of the motion idea to console is not likely, and not needed. Simply put: Nintendo was first, and in my opinion the best at motion controllers on console. Down to the wristband is imitated on PS Move. It's ridiculous, but what's even more ridiculous is how die hard fanboys are lapping it up, after completely bashing Nintendo for 3+ years on motion controls. It's Wii HD. Speaking of...if Nintendo announced a Wii2 (HD or not) at E32010 or E32011...oh god...the ramifications...Sony would have nothing.

| Kantor said: Yes and no. Yes in that it consists of one or two motion controllers held in your hands with 1:1 motion control and a wrist strap, and it has a pretty much identical lineup. No in that it has a coloured ball on the end. In all seriousness, I don't see how Wii fans can call this a Wiimote ripoff and say it sucks in the same breath. It IS a Wiimote ripoff, that much is pretty clear. It's just a rather advanced Wiimote ripoff for use with an HD system. |
Yeah I don't get that either, it may be slightly worse at pointing but it seems to be slightly better at gestures than WM+.
I can understand people attacking the games/price though, but the actual technology is pretty much the same idea as the wiimote.
