I'm very well aware how the mechanics work, don't worry about that. The system has been broken ever since BF2 hit and only TF2 did anything to fix it.

Also please don't even bother bashing WoW when you are supporting such poor excuses for games as CoD4 and BF2. At least WoW knows what it is and does it well, it doesn't need to implement half-assed mechanics to prop it up. As it stands BF1942/Vietnam are far better games than BF2.

No I'm fairly sure Vietnam was better than BF2, though 1942 was better than either of those.

Also out of all the good MMOs to counter WoW you picked some of the worst you could pick? Between horrendous grinding, technical problems, bad concepts, and horrible balancing all of the ones you linked were absolutely horrible representatives of the MMO genre. Then again I guess I should be glad you didn't mention EQ or Lineage.

Pro tip, if you are gonna name MMOs that don't suck go with EVE or Planetside, at least they did something that WoW didn't trump.

I think that you need to realise that, while you don't like levelling up and unlocking rewards in FPS games, the general consensus is that is a good system. If more people like it than don't, it's likely going to stay. You may think its broken, but you are in the minority, so there is no point trying to convince other people.

FYI: Battlefield 2 is a classic.

Imo the game deserves far worse than that. I just can't get into the games multiplayer and i lose interest very quickly. Glad i got it from gamefly and didn't buy it.
