i dont know, theyre shooting themselves in the foot...
sorry, im normally a sony fan, but HOW THE FUCK can you be so fking stupid to not have enough ps3s at retailers shortly before FF13 and GoW3 and perhaps this issue wont be fixed until after god of war 3 release
sorry but...
you cant expect super high sales if youre selling your 120g ps3 for 380$ just because your so fking stupid to meet demand sony...

it could be a trick to sell the 250gb bundle that bring more money to Sony

the 120gb are the sku where Sony is losing the more money (or winning the less)

here in the US only model that is being shipped is the 120gig. So that theory is false too.

I sense that PS3 will have stock issues until it doesn't start outselling the competition in US and UK... this may take years.

come on, PS3 has been behind for such a long time, and suddenly, a PS3 PR guy find a new, very original, dammage control news : "it is out of stock" ?

BTW, we have seen numerous people reporting (minor or local) stock issue ...

yeah but this "lack of stock" talk started Jan 1 2010. And was talked about by sony after the January NDP.

Ok, I can see the Wii with Stock issues, they sold like 4 million in a month, but a 3rd place console that gets outsold all the times having stock issues make no sense to me.

I don't understand this argument. Sony don't manufacture their PS3s based on the fact that Nintendo manufacture 4 million Wiis, they manufacture based on how many they sell. If the amount that they sell is above that what they have predicted to sell, then of course they won't have enough.

Increasing production is both costly and risky, it also isn't instantaneous (I know this from experience, that the tooling of hardware to produce components isn't an over-night job) - it's perfectly reasonable to expect that production increases will take a while.

lets see how it plays out... If GT5 comes out, and PS3 beats 360 in NA, and all of a sudden Sony says "no supply issues"...I'll be laughing.

I think that two of the three console makers had higher than expected sales over the 2009 holiday season and sacrificed possible future sales for certain present sales at that time.

When I report I report for about 10 million people. That isn't very minor or local.
