Arc news, GT5 release date (i wish).

Around the Network

Most of the conference sessions start at 10 AM. Exhibit hall probably opens at either 8 or 9 AM.

Moscone Center is about 5 minutes away from my apartment but I have class through Thursday. Game Career Seminar is on Saturday, Expo and Career Pavilion open from Thursday through Saturday. $75 for student passes onsite registration only.

I've been so busy with classes that I actually forgot. I'm honestly not expecting anything besides Gears 3.

Sony's very own dildo the 'ARC'

Around the Network

I'm expecting no new consoles announced, except perhaps a meaningless 'we are vaguely working on platform x' comment.

I'm expecting that people will be dissapointed when they see natal only being used for the 'pub games' section of fable 3.

Lots of Natal and arc games, hopefully something Milo related? and something from Rare

I hope Sony and Microsoft will say they both drop motion control completely and announce 20 AAA titles that will only cost 10$ at launch.. a boy can dream..

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

A game announcement or two. And probably a whole lot of motion control talk.

Just a note (and I say this every year), GDC is closer to a giant job fair and careeer workshop than a place to announce things. It isn't like E3 where it's a convention for the press, it's a convention for the developers and people looking to get into the industry. Most publishers and studios have booths, but they're more for trying to hire people or sell their tech.

Don't expect any Earth shattering announcements. Unless they have some huge keynote, don't expect anything at all. If they have a huge keynote, expect them to say something new, just not anything major.

You guys are gonna be in for a treat. It's going to be 99% about moving from the risky all-or-nothing blockbuster AAA megahit HD business strategy... to making games on Facebook and iPhone. The other 1% will be "Natal is going to be all over E3 guys, get ready!"
