Forums - Sony - This is why IGN has the (one of) the worst scoring ever.

I prefer the machinima review, they gave it a 10/10 =) Nicely done. One of the best games ever

It isn't just IGN, it's the review system for games as a whole.

It does seem like a .9 review is just an attempt at trolling.

"Why does everyone ask about Chrono Trigger? (responding to a comment about the title being loved) That's not what the sales tell me! If people want a sequel, they should buy more!" - Square Enix Senior Vice President Shinji Hashimoto

Damn god of war 3 noooo I've been spoiled FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

the problem is that every review is based off a opinion thats why theres always going to be hi scoring reviews and low scoring reviews. i thought halo 3 was a amazing game but a review gave it a 7.5 because in his opinion the game wasn't that good, the only way to tell if you like a game is if you already played it. reviews are more like a guide to which game is going to interest you nothing set in stone if its fun are not entail you play it.

so i dont see why your mad about ign giving gow a 9.3

No, IGN's scoring system is bad because it uses the decimal system. Honestly, anyone wanna tell me the difference between a game getting an 8.9 and a 9.0? Everytime they give out anything ending in .4 or .9, a little part of me dies.

I AGREE WITH U

I'm missing 320€ right now to spend one a PS3.

Go watch the FFXIII review. This one is probably more to your liking.

what about it? i still don't trust reviewers with which game is fun and which is not.

its like you're dating someone and some random guy says "no she isn't good looking and not going to be a good person go date someone else", how the heck do you know what i like?

You know all reviews are opinions right? The IGN review was a really good one to me in that it talked about what to expect from the game.

The Gamespot review starts out like a press release and then mostly just lists stuff. I hate reviews that spend their whole time detailing story or specific little moves or abilities. I can find that out in the game. What I want to know is am I going to want to play that game (or watch that movie)

In a movie review, do you want the reviewer to stop telling you what they thought of the movie and instead just recap the plot?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Because he talked mostly about the game itself and only added his opinion near the end and tried to acknowledge what other people's opinions might be.

Plus all reviews have the writer's opinion in it somewhere. I thought you would like it because he had less of it.

So why do you watch or read reviews anyway?
