IGN gave it a 93, whats the problem?

i don't care about the score nor what God of War is going to be on metacritic , or how much it sells.

happy?

Then I still don't understand the problem.

Slightly OT but...

The FFXIII review isn't even out yet and the game releases in 3 hours.

Good job Clements !

Sometimes review copies of games are given under conditions which limit publication of the reviews until a game is released; and (often) these conditions can be that a certain score is required for early publication. I have no idea whether this is the case with Final Fantasy XIII, but the review might not have been released early for reasons other than laziness.

the problem is why reviewers don't review the games but rather tell you what they like to do in their personal life?

No, IGN's scoring system is bad because it uses the decimal system. Honestly, anyone wanna tell me the difference between a game getting an 8.9 and a 9.0? Everytime they give out anything ending in .4 or .9, a little part of me dies.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

So? Its not something which is unheard of in any medium whether its print, radio, tv or internet distributed content. Its just suplementary commentry to the written review in any case.

I would really like for review sites to stop giving out numeric or letter grades all together ...

Classifying a game (or elements of a game) into a scale of {awful, poor, average, good, great} and possibly associating it to 10 other games that it is similar to in order to aid in making a decision as to whether you’d like it. The way I see it is that it is more meaningful to say that "Borderlands is a great game that you would really enjoy if you liked Bioshock and Fallout 3" than "Borderlands is an 8 out of 10"

They were suppose to have the review at the end of last week but fell behind because of the PS3's messing up on Feb. 28 but they PROMISED to have the review up today and that they are so sorry they couldn't have it done last week.

EDIT: Just checked the IGN and the review just went up.

Opinion are reviews.

@ Severance

Go watch the FFXIII review. This one is probably more to your liking.
