UFC vs boxing

UFC for the win 12 35.29%

boxing is always king 7 20.59%

I like both 6 17.65%

other specify 2 5.88%

3wk ban for the win. 7 20.59%

Total:34

I can remember watching boxing as a kid, when mike tyson and Evander Hollyfield were popular.I used to be a fan. When boxing went to pay-per-view only,I think that's when boxing lost it's popularity. Plus their really isn't anyone that stands out anymore. I might be wrong though. I used to hate UFC,until I started watching it on Spike. It just brings out the action fan in me. It's smart of the UFC to show free programing, while also showing one pay-per view every month. I think that's brought a lot of people on board. So I'm just wondering is the UFC the new boxing? Is boxing dying and on it's way out? Will Anderson Silvia ever lose a UFC match. lol     If #5 wins the poll, then I'll ask for a 3wk ban this time. I've raised the stakes. lol

People are going to know what I'm talking about when I say UFC. People might not know what MMA is. Let's not split hairs here.

MMA is the new boxing in some ways in certain markets.

Boxing is weak in US cause American HWs majorly suck right now. Europe is becoming the home of boxing, mma is nothing there compared to boxing.

Anderson will lose, hes lost before. Palhareas Drwal Akiyama and Vitor are his big threats.

I'll give this thread until tommorow morning, before I check the results.

Boxing is a little more legitimate because it's bound by rules, MMA is the next step towards "The Running Man" becoming a reality, and is another sign (along with reality TV) of people's degrading standards in entertainment. I am a martial artist too, in case anyone is wondering and a huge fan of martial arts in general.

Typical foolishness from some one ignorant of the sport that does not understand mma and should not talk about before educating them selfs on the subject.

MMA has alot of rules which are striclkly enforced.  MMA by the way is a far far safer sport then Boxing, where every year a handful of fighers die.

MMA might look more brutal to an ignorant viewer but in fact its safer.

Boxing is only more legitimate becuse its been around for more then 100 years, people grew up on it they are used to it.  While MMA for the most part is 15/10 years into its life.

lol you are a martial artist, what art ?

do you have to be so arrogant in your post? calm down man.

I find boxing too boring. The only part I like is the KO punches - I'm not a big fan of the technical aspect of boxing (my dad is a big fan of that). MMA is a quicker pace, which I enjoy.

Dude wtf type of boxing have you been watching.

Ever see Pacquiao Cotto Mosley Adamek Haye fight ? Watch Briggs vs Adamek, its a 12 round Brawl.  Or Pacmans destrustion of Hatton and Oscar or his wars with the Mexican fighters.

You need to follow the boxers that have the style you find entertaining.  Stay away from snore fests like Dawson Vlad Hopkins.
