Terrible story. As ever, though, what get's me is the bit about leaving loaded guns around. I hate to sound like the normal European fragging on US around gun control, but that's just so weird. Why would you ever be wandering around with a loaded gun then casually put it down?

I mean, I've occasionally left a pair of scissors around but a loaded gun? That's just inexcusable parenting as Montana says.

Seriously, how is this Nintendo's fault that some idiot parent left a loaded semi-automatic gun on a table within a child's reach?

What's the percentage of actual intelligent people that you have met in total? Mine is extremely low. It's not about gun control, it's about how retarded people can get with controlling their guns, it's simple Spiderman shit.

How do they KNOW she thought it was Wii controller tho? Were they watching her? Sides, parents who leave guns (loaded) around little children should be shot themselves.

Its not, in fact to bring up the Nintendo Wii at all just shows how irresponsible the parents were.  Why does it have to be that she thought she was playing Wii? It probably has nothing to do with that at all,  video games are just an easy finger point.

On second thought, the people who are saying "how did she pull the trigger"...she could've pulled it with both of her thumbs, while using her other fingers to hold on to the grip. Doing that, the gun would be pointed at her...
