This annoys me. You think having a black character makes something politically correct? That's just stupid.

No, just the ones that are there for the clear purpose of simply being there and not having any other purpose beyond being a black guy in a film. They typically have nothing to do with the story and are just there to make bad jokes.

And I think of this for any minority in a film. Like the female love interest who gains some random love for the main character when they've never even had a decent conversation (like in The Mummy 3).

So anyone who isn't a white male in a movie, pisses you off? That's not right.

Only if they have no greater purpose than being politically correct. Which is pretty common.

What if it was a white male who was there to make bad jokes?

Tom Arnold was the only white guy in Soul Plane, and I think his only purpose was to go "Oh jeeze I'm surrounded by black people this plane is craaaaaaaaazy!"

Around the Network

I think I've figured out your problem PheonixKing: You've confused "all people that aren't white" with "Chris Tucker"

Now i can understand that having made this confusion, you're thrilled to see a movie stand up to this supposed injustice. Chris Tucker, however,  is only one individual and not infact 5 billion men, women and children.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Alan Moore based The Watchmen from an old 40s comic book (you know, back when racism was the norm so all the characters were white). Many of the 80s Watchmen were either the same character or a descendent of the original character. I doubt Moore even gave a second thought to none of them being black. It probably would have required more explaining (and therefore sidetracked the story) than anything else if he HAD used a black or latino character.

If you spend time watching Watchmen and thinking about the race of the characters, you're doing it wrong.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

dont believe you saw the movie. there is a giant blue person in most of the scenes. sometimes even more than one.

"Its like sex, but with a winner!"
