Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft to increase dominace in the US with a new ODST/Forza Elite

This is a classic bundle response to a slow period I think. ODST and Forza will already have reached their core audience and few should be salivating over getting them in this bundle.

However the bundle is good value and makes the overall purchase more attractive to those for whom the games look okay to get free with the console and make the overall bundle appealing - I know that's a bit Captain Obvious but how else to put it!

Turn 10 in particular should be happy as sales were starting to dip and it was looking likely that without bundling Forza 3 would sell less than Forza 2, which would look like a step backwards for the franchise.

It's a good bundle though, and could help keep 360 looking good in stores across the GoW3 launch.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

This wont move very many consoles. Everyone who wants halo has a 360 already. And racing games are a niche. Forza wont sell much more then it has already.

i dont think this will increase the dominance...(what dominance?)

presumably it means in the US... where yes it is dominant in the battle between it and the PS3... with an install bease of nearly twice the size of the PS3.

OT I dont see it making much difference... or maybe it will... I have no idea really.

ahh get it...but still i think GoW3 will push more PS3s than this Bundle X360s...

soooo we should see a bump or a spike of Xbox 360 sales because of this AWESOME bundle?

Thing is that you cannot find any PS3's anywhere in the US, they are sold out at every retailer.

and yet they are selling almost 100k per week.... I'm sorry but I'm tired of hearing this.

We will have a better idea of who is selling how many units in about 4 days.

I liked the 'every retailer' bit.  Clearly the PS3 is sporadically having stocking issues in certain retailer stores, but it's not stopping it selling pretty well so I doubt we're talking thousands of lost sales and unless I see sales really dip oddly - or jump up alongside Sony PR to the effect shortages are over -  I won't be changing my view.

In my area their arent many places to buy Ps3 so many are forced to buy them online. If you go to the 2 most popular places to get them....Amazon or Bestbuy they are always sold out so dont act like their arent shortages. Most people dont search around to find things they either put it off or get something else.

GT5 being a flop confirmed. You are correct, why even bundle any consoles with any Halo games ever again? Every single person who has ever wanted to play Halo already has  a 360. (hope you sense some sarcasm in that )
