Downloadable Tomb Raider Coming from Crystal Dynamics

Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix announced plans for a new adventure in the Tomb Raider universe this morning. Titled Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, the game is scheduled for release "via digital download" later this year.

The press release doesn't offer many details on Guardian of Light. Which platforms it's being developed for, what style of game it'll be, and when we can expect it to come out are all a complete mystery at the moment, though Square Enix promises plenty of info at the Game Developers Conference next week.

The developer's official Twitter page also teased that this downloadable Tomb Raider isn't the only game currently in the works from Crystal Dynamics. Whether or not we'll also hear about that mystery project at GDC remains to be seen, but we'll let you know as soon as we get the word.

If it will be as garbage as Tomb Raider: Underworld was, I want absolutely nothing to do with it.

I hate when people say a game is going to be bad based on a title earlier in the series. The game was just announced and you already know it's going to be garbage. come on man

Tomb Raider Underworld was awesome. All of the games since Legend were good. I'll be downloading on day one.

Underworld was good not Garbage. you guys base everything on reviews.
