Forums - Gaming - WTH is spamming?

So I was playing vs (re5) the other night and I used a grenade launcher to put the hurt on one of my enemies, the then turns oh his mic and says "stop spamming me you noob". So I turn on my mic ask what the hell is he talking about then he says "you spamming me with your weapon, stop it" so I reply "if you mean stop shooting you....no". He then gets pissed and leaves the game. I am not understanding what the hell this spamming thing is, is it because people are getting thier asses kicked and cant take it or am I really doing somethig wrong? I was also called a cheater for killing someone with a RPG...wth.

Spamming usually involves explosive weapons with large splash damages that people believe require little aiming or skill to use, simply "spamming" it (tapping the trigger at any first sight constantly).

RPGs and grenade launchers are usually disdained for this. Killzone 2's rockets, MW2's "n00b t00b", etc.

Ehh dont mind them sore losers.

The funny thing is if they got the weapon first they would do the same thing and it wouldn't be "spamming" lol

what they really need to implement is a -score system that is very strict like in Americas Army. On most servers -300 points will kick you (into jail no less), and that can easily be attained just shooting a handful of your teammates or a nice RPG round into a group of 2-3

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

(and subsequently this post)

@Nordlead: I like what they do in Halo. If you kill a teammate twice then they have the option to boot you from the game

spamming is what you get when you show a tin of spam to a scottish vegetarian. she will say "thats mingin!"

spam + ming = spamming.

glad we got that sorted. :)

Yeah, people can be hypocrites, but I think that they can still be right if a weapon truly is overpowering and ruins the balance of the game. They should ultimately complain to the game developers, not you.

Spamming and hacking in an online game is when you're doing better than someone else.

If it's a legitimate weapon within the game, even if it does give you a huge advantage, that's their problem not yours.
