Super Mario Bros. had tons of bugs. Many of them actually made the game a little more fun, The Minus World, walking through walls, double jumping, and the famous Minus World.
Show stoppers are a big no no.

Yeah, bugs and unintended features can often make a game better. Look at Quake, with all the rocket-jumping, bunny-hopping madness. It made the game cooler and caused people to maintain interest for a longer time (there are still people playing the game online every day).
