God of War III looks amazing but too violent. i dislike over violent games, however im sure it will be a very fun extreme game at least.

Final Fantasy XIII simply doesn't seem worth it, i don't like the main character (not a pretty boy) and it took to long to get here. it doesn't look fun.

My choice... Resonance of Fate for PS3, it looks amazing without being to violent, it has a Final Fantasy VII-ish ting of awesomeness, AND most importantly two of the 3 main characters are BOTH pretty boys with one pretty girl. perfect balance instead of female bias.

IMO scores for each will end up like this if/when i get around to playing them...

GoWIII - 8/10 even if its too violent, the Titans looks epic to fight, Kratos isn't a pretty boy but atleast hes a MAN!

FFXIII - 6/10 Female Lead, not enough playable pretty boy characters(its a must for FF games now), took to long to make with not enough content to justify its price tag, and finally the directer himself said FFXIII isn't a RPG.

RoF - 9.7/10 SEGA creators of Valkyria Chronicles and Phantasy Star Portable 2, Tri-Ace Creators of Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile, there love child RoF should surpass all of the above, which should be near-masterful in the end.

You see, Judging by most of your posts I wouldn't say you are perfectly qualified to jump in between the whole GOW3 vs FFXIII bit simply because I am aware that anything to do with god killing and religious themes as well as gore goes against your beliefs (not judging you in a bad way, I admire the fact that you stick to your beliefs even in gaming, as a roman catholic I still fall under hypocrisy for loving gore and god killing stuff and demons, etc). I did like your comment of Kratos being a MAN!!! Yes he is hehe, reminds me of Gerard Butler as Leonidas but more extreme and angry lol. I do have high hopes for ROF because I loved Tri-Ace's OTHER great games (my favorites jrpg's actually) Valkyrie Profile 1 and 2 (best battle systems). I do hope your beliefs allow you to bend over slightly and take a shot at the entire GOW series ending with 3, but most importantly, take them for what they are in terms of gameplay, scale, epicness and story. I personally loved the stories and where they are headed.

Note: I am not completely discrediting your recommendations and whatnot, as you are in your perfect right to uphold your beliefs and keep yourself from playing certain games because they may violate those beliefs. However I do hope you get the opportunity to try the entire series and get to judge it by the story first and then the gameplay. I personally am a fan of a good story. Last books I've read are Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straubb as well as 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

Well I seriously do not know which game to get out of these two games. I own a PS3 and an XBox 360.

If I buy FFXIII it must be on the PS3. It is on one Blu-Ray disc and is in 720p(HD) the graphics look much better than 360 version which is on 4 discs and in 576p(not HD). However I have never played an FF game and do not parrticularly like JRPGs. May or may not be AAA game on Metacritic due to mixed reviews. Multi-platform game which has taken a long time to develop. 70 hours+ of game play. Is there any reason in buying Final Fantasy XIII for the XBox 360?

God of War 3 well I have not played any of the previous two God of War games. I do like the hack n' slash genre. The Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden games were fun games. God of War 3 releases only a week after FFXIII. Should be rated as AAA on Metacritic. PS3 exclusive game. 15 hours of game play.

Anyway which game is the better of the two games? So both games will sell a boat load of PS3s in their launch weeks. PS3 sales pushed through the roof. Some VGC sales analysts say 500k PS3s will be sold in the launch week for both of these games. We will see.

I can't believe I added you as a friend on my already banned account (onikenshi) and not this one. Anyways, I added you.

On topic: Get GOW3, but before you do I highly recommend the collection as you will want to get the story from the beginning. In fact if you can borrow a friend's psp and play GOW chains of olypmus first go for it to at least get the background story of the first 10 years of Kratos' servitude to the Gods and you get to see how he becomes what he is, why he's so angry, and what he's truly fighting for as well as why. GOW1 picks off after that and GOW2 picks off right after GOW1 ends, and it looks like GOW3 picks up after that, so they kept the story nice and tight. As far as gameplay goes, the scale (especially during boss fights) can get to you a bit. Enjoy those games man, they are worth it, and doing the challenge rooms can be fun/frustrating, unlocking costumes (they actually boost stats like str, magic, etc). Take care.

Thanks lol, an' yeah religion does play its role for video games for me, gotta' keep the peace in the household ya know.

An' yeah, Kratos is one of those badass "dont fuck with me" characters like Dante and Sephiroth-ish except more... Manly. though the violence in GOWIII is just to much for me, ripping heads off sounds badass but once you actually see it in action in HD... ewww... do not want.

GOW is based of Mythology isn't? Greek if i understand? that alone in story setting makes it awesome, if there was "NO" gore and maybe little blood i'd buy it day 1, but its just to messy, nothing against the franchise as a whole, its jus' demons souls all over again for me, great looking game but a no go.

And yeah Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria by far my personal fave out of all of tri-aces games, and RoF uses the same art-style as VP2, thats very good news, we like that.

Anyways, thanks for the understanding, i usually get flamed when talking about big games in an' even slight negative way.

Seraphic, even trashleg loves the violence of GoW. Its violent, yes, but you're killing pixels and game code, not actual living beings...and majority of those living beings are monsters who want to eat your head..
oh and kratos has WINGS ! And I'm pretty sure you can play as one of the pretty boy gods that you unlock after finishing the full game.

lol trashleg likes GoW? never woulda' guessed.

Yeaaahhhh... the wings thing is a real win, when i saw that video in your thread him jumping off a moutain moving towards that titan an' then wings black wings sprouted out of his back that was epic.

Still i realize its jus' pixels and game code, but i'll have ta' pass, its a semi-religious/personal thing, again its nothing against the franchise or the game, i actually would like to try an' play it, but alas.
